Kelly Halcomb- Owner & Program Director

Owner and program director, Kelly (Samford) Halcomb has called Duluth home since 1980.  She is a former Auburn University Dance Team member and Captain.  She has been working with gymnasts, dancers and cheerleaders of all ages for over 20 years.  As a 1999 honor graduate of Auburn University, she majored in High School Science Education with an emphasis in Biology.  After teaching Biology and coaching cheerleading at Duluth High School for several years, she opened Cheer & Dance Atlanta with her husband Brent in 2002.   As the gym grew to be more successful, they opened locations in Auburn, GA (2013) and Grayson, GA (2015) to better serve the Atlanta area.  Kelly & Brent have six children, Emerson (12)  Samford (10) Callaway Ann (8) Banks (7) Mills (4) Powell (1) and the best dog in the world, Lily!

Kelly oversees all Jayhawks All-Star coaches, class instructors and summer camps.  She is CPR and AACCA (American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators) safety certified, a member of the Georgia High School Coaches Association and a member of the Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association.  Kelly has captured three State Championships and a runner-up in Georgia High School as well as numerous National Championships at the All-Star level.  In 2006 she coached the Georgia & National High School Cheerleading Team of the Year and was a finalist for Georgia Coach of the Year.   Since then she has worked with high school squads from all over the Southeast. In 2013 Kelly co-coached the Atlanta JayHawks "Platinum" Level 5 Team who won The Summit Championship in Disney World.  Kelly is also a member of Gwinnett Medical Center's Women's Advisory and enjoys being involved in the community she grew up in.

Kelly enjoys challenging the kids to progress in their skills while enthusiastically encouraging them every step of the way.  She makes it her mission to see every child leave the gym with a smile and a great feeling about their accomplishments.  She is proud of the numerous athletes she has helped train to become college cheerleaders.  Many former Jayhawks have now become successful coaches themselves.  Kelly considers her staff and the families in the gym her extended family and loves building the relationships that will last a lifetime.


Jonathan Felkey- Auburn Gym Manager

With Jayhawks since 2006...

Jonathan is the Gym Manager at the Auburn gym. He was a former MIC Man, Cheerleader and coach at Auburn University (ironically :). He was the MIC Man for the 2002-2003 season. He cheered for the next two seasons before being named Auburn’s Cheerleading Coach. Jonathan graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Sport Coaching.

While cheering at Auburn Jonathan was also a UCA Staffer, Head Instructor, Core Instructor and College Staff Instructor. He won multiple awards such as Rookie of the Year, Veteran of the Year, Head Instructor of the Year and The Male Staff Choice Award for the Mid-South Region while working UCA.

After his time in Auburn, Jonathan moved to the Atlanta area to work in the All-star industry. He worked at Cheer and Dance Atlanta (Atlanta Jayhawks) from 2006-2011 winning several National Championships, Cheersport Championships and two All Level World Championships. He then worked at ATA All-stars from 2011-2013 where he continued to win multiple National Championships and another Cheersport Championship. He helped coach their Large Coed Level 5 team to two Worlds appearances and one finals appearance.

Jonathan is a certified GHSA lay coach and most recently Coached Loganville High School to a 2012 Region Championship. Jonathan is certified by the USASF in levels 1-5 for stunts, tumbling and tosses. He spots and teaches tumbling to all age groups and levels.


Jodi Richardson- Allstar Director

All-Star Coordinator and Office manager for the Auburn gym.  Jodi has been with Jayahwks since 2003!


Alex Guzman

Alex Guzman was born and raised in Duluth, Georgia. He began his cheerleading career on the 2005 Duluth C.L.A.W. Squad created and coached by Kelly Halcomb. As a high school cheerleader his team won 2 Sectional Championships, runner up to GHSA State Champions as well as Georgia and National Team of the Year.

Alex was also an All-star competitive cheerleader at, where else? JAYHAWKS! He won several championships as a Jayhawk and created a relationship with Jonathan Felkey who encouraged him to continue cheering at the college level. Alex accepted a scholarship to Shelton State in 2008. He went on to win two UCA National Championship titles at Shelton State.

Alex then went on to accept a full cheer scholarship at the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!). He cheered for the Crimson Tide on the field, court and competition floor even cheering in the National Championship game against LSU. He graduated with a major in exercise and sport science and a minor in nutrition and disability sports.

Alex has coached All-stars, tumbling & stunt classes for over 6 years and is a HUGE asset to the Atlanta Jayhawks Staff. Alex coaches Levels 1-5 and is an awesome stunt coach for you girls and guys wanting to co-ed stunt with the best! We could go on and on about how great he is but you will have to see him to believe it. In fact, check him out on the Jayhawks OPEN team "Midnight" this year! Like we always say "Once a Jayhawk, always a Jayhawk".


Carolyn Hall

With JayHawks since 2014...

Carolyn Hall is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science Education.  Carolyn cheered all throughout her childhood and in high school for Collins Hill and was a part of the Atlanta Jayhawks.  As a Jayhawaks Alumni she is excited and overjoyed to be a part of the Jayhawks Staff. 

She is married to her husband Jason and they have two beautiful children.  She has coached at multiple levels from recreational cheer, middle school cheer and all-star cheer.  

Carolyn truly believes in investing her athletes' lives and overall character!   


Chelsea Reed

Chelsea participated in competitive gymnastics for nine years.  She then coached gymnastics for four years.  Later in life she fell in love with competitive cheerleading and has coached for the last seven years. Chelsea is patient and ethusiastic with our athletes and uses her gymnastics background to perfect their skills. She has been with JayHawks since 2014.
